Bernese are an AKC and American Herding Breeds Association recognized herding breed. The BMDCR has one of the largest group of members training Berners for trial level herding of any Regional Berner Club AND we have what May be the ONLY Bernese Mountain Dog EVER to go High in Trial at an AKC All-Breed Herding trial owned by one of our members-GCHG Tanzanite Incommunicado PT FDC JHDs NDD (Inca) owned and handled by Sharon Montville.

If you have ever wondered about herding and what it takes now is your chance! The weekend of September 28 and 29 the BMDCR and the Pikes Peak Herding Association are hosting a two day American Herding Breeds Association All-Breed herding trial at Hachita Farms in Elizabeth Colorado. Spectators are welcomed and encouraged. We would love to share our talented Berners with you and its also a great opportunity to see other herding breeds in action.
